Origin

P. kovachii is found in Peru (Amazonas), P. besseae is found from Ecuador to Northern Peru.

Cultivation takes place all year round on an unheated east-facing window without additional lighting and with plenty of air movement.

Water as needed: thoroughly and continuously until the saucer is full. When the saucer is almost empty it is refilled.
Fertilise almost all year round at intervals of one to two weeks with a standard fertiliser of about 400 µS/cm – less frequently and less intensively during the low-light season.
Once a month, spray with Epsom salts (1 g/l). In addition, administer calcium nitrate (Calcinit, 0.15 g/l) monthly, and give the plant calcium carbonate about four times a year.
Temperatures vary from about 16 degrees Celsius in winter to over 28 degrees Celsius in summer.
